Baci di Cherasco
Towards the end of the 19th century, Marco Barbero, a young entrepreneur from Cherasco, in the province of Cuneo, decided to move to Turin to learn confectionery arts.
When he returned he opened an elegant confectioner’s and immediately began to put into practice all he had learned in the big city.
Barbero began mixing dark chocolate with the hazelnuts from the Langhe, which had been roasted in a wood oven: the result was irregularly shaped chocolates that at first taste are appetizing, but soon become irresistible: the Baci di Cherasco – or Cherasco Kisses.
