Abandon yourself to the sweetest temptation of all – chocolate – in all its forms and variations: this is the promise made once again by CioccolaTÒ 2008, the celebration during which Torino and Piemonte express their love and profound esteem for this "food of the gods".Shows, culture, music, creativity: From Friday, February 22 to Sunday, March 2 (check the program), Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the largest porticoed square in Europe, will be the stage for the wide variety of events planned for the sixth edition of CioccolaTÒ.
Ten days of joyous immersion into the world of cocoa through programmed events designed to satisfy all tastes: from tastings to literature and theatrical presentations based on the theme of cocoa, from laboratories with master pastry chefs of international renown to the CioccolaTÒ School and CioccolaTÒ Factory, from the entertaining duels between celebrities during “For a fistful of cocoa” to special radio programmes by Cocina Clandestina…and much more.
A true choco-shock, which will be distinguished by the principle of creativity in design.
In fact, 2008 is the year in which Torino celebrates its nomination as World Design Capital, and for this reason some of the appointments programmed will concern the meeting of Chocolate-Design, a link that will be the focus of a day of study organised in collaboration with TWDC.
CioccolaTÒ 2008 will be an opportunity to discover the infinite design potential of chocolate, to rediscover traditional classics, and stand in awe of the most innovative artistic expressions of chocolate chefs.
Naturally, there will also be plenty of room for fun. For lovers of pop-rock music, Saturday, February 23, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, FINLEY, the Italian band that won the “2006 MTV Europe Music Awards” in Copenhagen for the Best Italian Act, will entertain the crowds.
